About

Willard Elementary School serves approximately 325 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.  Willard School is working to become a model school for rigor.  A school for rigor focuses on the following aspects:  utilizing a standards-based instructional model, training teachers on The Essentials for Achieving Rigor instructional framework (which is the work of Robert J. Marzano), using formative assessment data to make on-the-spot instructional decisions, staff participation in instructional rounds, use of peer collaboration and coaching techniques to share teacher expertise, and a greater focus on reflecting on data for continuous improvement.  We are excited to be one of the leaders in our district in the School for Rigor work!
